The Volks Folks will have an informal cruise-in at Fat Mo's on Lee Hwy. (near the intersection of Lee Hwy and Shallowford) on Friday evening, November 18th. Our next regular monthly meeting will be held at China Moon in the Eastgate Town Center on Brainard Road at 7:00 PM, Monday November 21st.

Thanksgiving is right around the corner and Christmas will be here before you know it! If your town is having a Christmas parade, post the information about it in our events forum. Let's try to have some Volks Folks cars in as many of these parades as possible!

From our inception, the Scenic City Volks Folks have supported the Chattanooga Area Food Bank by collecting food at Bug-A-Paluza and by participating in the annual Channel 3 Share Your Christmas food drive. The 21st annual Share Your Christmas is scheduled Wednesday, December 7th. The Channel 3 Eyewitness News team will be collecting food and cash donations for the Chattanooga Area Food Bank. The site for this year is yet to be determined. Check back for details on when and where we will meet to caravan to the event.

Want to show off your Volks Folks pride while traveling to VW events? We now have club logo car magnets available! The magnets are screen printed in blue and black on white material and are a little less than 12 inches in diameter. $10 a pair for club members. This is BELOW COST! If a non-club member wants a set they will $20...but for only $5 more, you could join the club ($15) and buy the magnets at the club member price.

Also, GoBusGo (a.k.a. Travis) has some very cool Volks Folks ball caps for sale. You can find out more about them in our forums.

If you camped at the club's Sloppy Floyd campout back in September, your T-Shirts are done. They turned out good! If you didn't pick them up at the October meeting, please contact Zen to arrange a time to pick them up.

Volks Folks News Update

October 17, 2005

On Sunday, October 16th, the Chattanooga Market held their annual Octoberfest. For the past three years this event has included a small VW show (it has to stay small because there is only room for about 20 cars). Spectators vote on their favorite VW, with the top three getting a neat hand-made metal VW emblem trophy. The winners this year were: 1st place - Anthony's Formula Vee Racer; Second place - Kyle's Vanagonagon A.K.A. "Stretch" and Scott's 67 Bug sporting its new Herbie decals took third. For the third year in a row, Homer the Superbus took the "Ugliest VW" award. Thanks to everyone who came out and help us make this event a success!

Looking ahead to November, the Bulli Brigade (an all split window bus show) and Pasco Bug Jam (formerly Florida Bug Jam) are coming up on November 12th and 13th.
