You should. Heck, make sure it doesn't have a changer in it!

I have a friend with a MkIV Jetta, drove it for a year or so, and always complained about it only having a tape deck. One day he was bragging about the first aid kits that VW would tuck in the inside wall of the rear fender, and when he opened the panel to show it off, Ta-dah!!, cd changer... I almost peed laughing at him...

I might take a trip back to Pull-A-Part and check it out.  Any excuse to go to the junk yard.  I love the smell of rusty cars in the morning!   ;D

when?

Any day that it isn't raining before next Thursday . . . after that I have to go back to working for a living, so I'm limited to weekends.  When do you want to go?
I go back to work on Wednesday... so either tomorrow or the first.

Can't do it tomorrow.  Maybe this weekend . . . or next weekend . . .

I'm trying to put the Passat back on the road.  It's been sitting with a dead battery since the accident, so the radio was in the SAFE mode.  I wrote the code on the top of the radio before I put it in, but this one uses different keys than the old one, so I have no way to pull it out.  Then, it hit me.  Travis looked up the code and sent it to me in a PM.  Looked back through my inbox and sure 'nuff, there it was!  Got the engine running and the radio working . . . the rest are just details!

Thanks again Travis!

Good idea.  I'll have to do that.  It seemed like a great idea to write it on the top of the radio . . . right up until I realized I had no way to pull the radio back out.
