Hurt my back pretty bad while I was in Nashville, so I have been moving at a super slow pace on the roof this week.  I did manage to get the entire framework fixed, all the broken, split, cracked sections of the hatch repaired, and the three small holes fixed.  I was just going to put a coat of resin on the whole thing, but in looking closer, I noticed that the whole roof has evidence of stress fracturing in the surface (in addition to all the hairline cracking extending up from the bottom edge from the years of the bare fiberglass being exposed)... I think I am gonna go ahead and apply a single layer of fiberglass mat over the entire roof to strengthen it up.  At this point, I want to fix everything once, and not re-visit it a year or two down the road.

And where's the fun in that?

I am all about the ride being more of an adventure than the destination, I just prefer to stay off the side of the road.   ;)

Outer shell is done... I hate fiberglass... itchy stuff that.... but it looks pretty good.  Ended up patching 4 small holes, a couple of small cracks, and a couple rather large ones.  After that, I was noticing more cracking in the material when I sanded the surface to clean it up, so I applied an additional layer of cloth( and mat in the hold down and side areas ) and sanded it all down even then applied a coat of resin/hardener mix.  Not perfect, but looks much better.  Just gotta let that cure now, and then apply a bit more resin on the underside of the bottom lip, then prime and paint it.   8)

Yeah.. fianlly getting the yard fixed from the garage project from a year and a half ago... they were nice enough to leave all the brick piled inthe yard for us.  So, I had some guys level the back yard out, and while they were at it, dump the brick into the mud-hole that was supposed to be a driveway.   ::)  Now I just gotta get some gravel on top of that... money money money....

And, yeah.  I figured that EVERYTHING i owned shouldn't look like crap.  I even picked up some Velvet Green from Southern Auto Body Supply the other day to do some blending whenever I get around to the body repairs (got to get done with the other bus in the garage first, though.    ;))

Man... we were just talking the other day how the shower bus's fiberglass pop top had a crack in it and would need to be done. No one knew how to fiberglass very well, but now we have an answer!!!

Let me know when we can drop it off  ;D ;D ;D

Painted the lid, and the opening of the roof around the hatch.... reassembled the freshened up lifter mechanisms, installed the polished up hardware, new hold-downs, seal, and reinstalled it on the bus.  Works great, looks decent for a driver status... another 5 years at this rate, and it shouldn't look like a pile of dung anymore.   ;D

I hope so... I had been hoping that if I just left it to itself, that it would go ahead and fix everything that was wrong... that wasn't working out so good.  :-[

Now to fix the couple of holes in the roof, then back to other people's stuff...  that Plymouth is calling my name, I need to free up some garage space.
