Another hose popped and I lost all my coolant again. I've identified the hose, just need to remove and replace. I wonder if there's a hose kit I could get to replace them all, cause I'm sure this won't be the last.

Ordered some aftermarket door handles too.

Had a bit of good luck tonight and traced the problem to the glow plug fuse, the little piece of wire was snapped in half. I was able to bypass it with a little piece of wire and it started right up. What an adventure this car is!

Do remember the first time I met you ?   Herb and I came down to your house to check out your old Jetta. Do you remember what the problem was ?

Forgot to mention, I also got my new door handles. They are cheap aftermarket, but better than nothing, which is what I had on the driver's side. It looks good, but you still have to hold the handle in a bit when you pull on the latch to open. I guess no Mk2 door handles are any good.

Also, oddly enough my old key will open the new lock.

Also I need to address my turn signals. I think the switch is bad, when you push it down all the way (left or right) it just fizzles out, but when you hold it slightly in place the turn signals will work. The wiper switch is a little funny too. Sometimes when it's off it still runs the wipers, and sometimes when it's on the wipers will randomly quit.

While I'm remembering things, I seem to recall the wiper switch in my '89 Jetta breaking off in my hand one day while it was in the 'on' position. I had to turn off the wipers by pulling the relay.

Shouldn't be too difficult of a job to pull the steering wheel and replace the switches, I hope.

Ha, saw it today... made me kinda miss my old '88 Jetta... man that was a fun car.
