Also began replacing my door panels. The vapor barriers are all pretty much ruined, and I decided to put a little Reflectix in the bare doors for some insulation.

Fixed! I finished up today, got the brakes bled and wheels put on and took it for a test drive. It drives like a brand new car except for the alignment which will need to be set now. Initially I drove it out the driveway into the neighborhood, and it sputtered and died. I'm thinking it didn't have much fuel and it must have leaked out the injection pump while it was sitting in the garage for so long. I freaked out a little cause I knew diesels don't like to start again if you run them out of fuel. I ran to the store and got a gallon of diesel, poured it in the car and thankfully it started back up. Drove it around and then up and down the interstate and I think it's pretty good.
It will start again just takes it while.  Good job. I knew there was hope .  Now go wash your hands and sing " On the road again" ;D ;D

Car's been runnin' like a dream lately. Turning is easier and the suspension feels better, not quite jars your teeth out going over bumps. And my tires don't rub anymore either from sitting so low. Didn't realize the front end was causing me that much of a problem!

Tonight I took it down the interstate and my coolant warning light started flashing, and I noticed the temp was slowly rising. I thought oh crap and went back home, checked but it hadn't lost any coolant. It was still full in the reservoir. I undid the cap and let the pressure vent out and tightened it back up. Didn't have any more problems, and the temp stayed normal. I like to think I finally got the coolant leak solved, I haven't noticed any more puddles.

Just checking in here, nothing major happening, for the most part I have been getting in and starting it every day and it takes me where I need to go, almost like a real car :o

Filled up today and got 35 MPG, that's a big improvement! Is it possible a bad wheel bearing could have affected my MPG? I wouldn't think so, but I can't think what else might contribute, other than just warmer weather means it's running a little more efficiently.

Got speakers and my stereo in, so those will be getting installed...have to get creative on the speaker mounting as nothing seems really standard on the old speakers.

Forget the Bus and the TT... You need to have this bad boy parked in the member's section at BAP.... It's like the first time Smelly Cat made it up after the whole "Slow Starter" thread... I feel like we know her already.   ;)

You thought it would be bad news didn't you! Fortunately I've had good luck these past few weeks. I'll definitely have it at Bug-a-Paluza and I agree, NOTHING will beat the Slow Starter thread!

Sal did order me a seal kit for the injection pump, so sometime soon hopefully I'll get that taken care of. No more leaking diesel.
