Maybe a thing with bench seats front and back.....
OR a stretched bug...

It's no longer air cooled, but I have heard Kyle talking about maybe putting his Vanagonagon up for sale.  Lot's of room and a camper too!

Have been working on Black Betty over the past 2 months.
Pulled the engine for a change of push rod tubes and a seal up and decided to go ahead and up the displacement to a 1600 from the 1500.
The clutch pressure plate was marked 9-67, and the friction disk and throw out bearing were marked 8-67.
The friction disk was at the rivits (67K miles on the odometer).
It would honestly appear that the engine had never been out of the car.
I put a new rear main seal on the engine and a new input shaft seal on the transmission.
The engine was covered in 20+ years of oil leaks from the cooler and the sleds were almost filled the the fins with dirt and oil from the leaks.
I cleaned every thing off and put the new cyl / pistons in as well as an after market oil pump with a spin on filter.
I had to go back with the 4-1 header / stinger combo because of the new oil filter hitting the preheat tubes on my pea shooter exhaust I wanted to run.
It was exciting to drive Betty out of the garage after having the engine out since early Dec. 2016.
Any way, the new clutch is grabbing great and I didn't realize just how worn out the other one was.

I have not posted in a while and wanted to let everyone know I had not fallen off the earth, just been taking it easier these past few months.

Have a great day.
Thanks,
ASBUG

Cool ! It's good to hear of a vintage VW in original condition.

So over the past 2 years I have had the 1968 Beetle - Black Betty, and sold it.
I then had a 1977 Champagne I edition bus that I traded around to get.
I buffed and polished the turd and it looked great, ran great, and then sold great... :(
So, on a whim I am going to see a 1972 standard beetle "General Lee".
It is in Dade Co. so it is a haul to get there.
If it is a nice as the photos look, then I'll get it.
Thanks.
