Congrats, Casey... I would have put him in my garage, but just no place to put him now (or the cash, for that matter)... Glad he's staying nearby.

Glad he's staying nearby.

But for how long?  But Casey is doing a little better . . . he kept the 63 for several months.   ;D  And, he's already held on to this buggy longer than the last one he had!

By the way Casey, if you do decide to part with it, remember I have and autostick and a Dasher I'd be willing to trade!    ;D :D

Yeah,
But I think that one is a long Buggy, it is on a full pan and is like 15" longer.
So I have to take off like 10% for mine being a shortened pan.

Most of the "long nose/flaired fenders" Allison's were full length .  Thats what makes Albert kind of on the rare side. Allen's Allison is the short nose and straight sides .

I agree. Also the little plate that means it was sold as a complete car in lieu of a kit is also rare.  I dare say that the Vin plate from Allison is more rare than that allison Fiberglass tag you cast for the back. They used the same Allison badge on the MG Kits they made as well, so it wasn't Dune specific, but I believe the VIN plate was dune specific.
-by the way, the overpriced example doesn't have a Vin plate in the picture so it was a KIT! +my 10% back!  ;D

Its to bad that Allison son destroyed all the molds and all records of production/ Vin#'s etc after his Dad had died. Then the son opened a flower shop. What!!!

Drove Al to work today.
Looked warmer than it was...
Man it is something else being in an open air car, smells, sounds are all better than in a regular car.

Parking used to be a real pain in the butt at UT, so I got my dirtbike (its for sale by the way!) and rode it to class. On those cold winter mornings, it would really bite. I remember a few times I would hop on the bike and ride to my masonry class, which would be canceled because we couldn't lay brick or block if the weather was below freezing due to the water in the sand freezing... Those were some cold days!

OK,
Getting the passat fixed at dealer, it is an t valve with a check valve that is stuck open, creating an internal vaccume leak.  This is why there is no damaged hoses or intercooler problems. Going to replace the hoses and the valve body as well.  they said it was near the intake somewhere.
Diagnosis was going to cost $85, parts to fix were $120 ish so i just decided to let them do it all for $320....
They said 2 hours to do, somthing about the intake needed to come off...

Also, Tiff gets a new car today and I am going to start driving the Passat tomorrow.
She is getting a new 2012 VW van.
It had some discounts since it was a 2012.
She is stoked and I am too.
Photos when I get it home tonight or tomorrow.
This is the nicest car I have ever bought.
She deserves the best for dealing with me... ;D

The check valves usually break and are obvious,  but I have seen them fail internally,  don't know what they mean by the valve body but seems reasonable on the repair

The computer was showing vacuum leak, but they like me could not find the culprit. they then began to pinch off hoses to find the source and work backwards.  They were on it for an hour or so on the diagnosis.
I am cheap, but that seems reasonable, I am going to replace the hoses as well.
Ladder has broken the votex spoiler loose though, and I'll need to get a quote on getting it fixed.
still looks ok, but it flexes and is only held on now by the upper bolts.
