Grab a picture of the broken hose because I have some that I received in a parts pile that look good.

'preciate it fellas, but the reinforced heater hoses I use are A-OK for a vacuum application. This bus is clean and non abused, so if the hoses on it are toast, then unless they are NOS, the ones out there are probably bad as well.
every FI bus I have owned has had this particular hose shot.

The main culprit was H.
I also replaced N, T, F, and Q.
I probably should just do them all, but the other curved hoses seem to be OK.

There is also a heater hose that replicates E as well.
Ask me how I know... LOL.

There is a guy on The Samba that sells new replacement hoses made of silicone. He makes one that replaces H but his ad is expired so maybe he's just out of stock right now.

He does have the decel valve hose though (E): http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=1220031

I plan on picking them up one day and then never worrying about replacing them again.

That is about 3X the cost of the Heater hose I use.
But thanks,
What does the other side of "U" hook to? it is pre flap so it isn't affecting my idle or running, but it is loose on the non breather end....

Yeah, but it's silicone so it should last 3x as long too!

Wait, what am I saying. You'll have this bus sold next week.

U hooks up to the top side of your charcoal canister. If you're missing that, I might have an extra. Also, I replaced that old brittle yellow hose with some 1/2" aquarium tubing I found somewhere, it really cleaned up the engine bay. I may have some extra of that too if yours looks old.

As far as I know, chrome bumpers only came on the champagne edition buses. Maybe they were purchased and added on later. Looks good.

I thought that as well.
The interior is brown as well.
I have yet to run the M codes, but according to the PO it is all orig.
(He has seen it sine the early 90's)
It isn't a champagne though.
All the seats are there and even has the little blue plug on the MAF sensor.
Seat belts are there as well. Floor is perfect up front and surface rust on back floor.
I love the 8 track, was jamming to the Eagles and Joan Jett.
I already have a correct looking black face VDO tach for the clock hole.
(should I choose to keep said bus...)
LOL,
KC

DANG! That thing looks good! I can't believe he had to let it go so quickly and it needed so little

So when are you going to drive back by and offer to sell it  back for 10x as much?
