Our Dune Buggies

« on: March 12, 2017, 11:38:45 AM »
Here's the dune buggies we own.  The orange one belongs to our college student daughter.   ;D  The green one (1966 pan) is actually from Tennessee and we bought it in July of 2016.  The blue one is our "rebuild project" (1959 pan)...

You got a nice collection of buggies. Any info about the red one?

Well....
The red one is a Berry Mini T4...as in "4" seats.  It is built on a full length VW pan.  It has a 1500cc single port engine.  My dad bought it in the early 1990s from a friend of his whose son had built it in 1973.  My dad just used it for driving around the backroads of Northern Wisconsin.  When my daughter was a toddler, "grandpa" put her car seat in the buggy and toured around with her.  My dad passed away in 2007 and left the buggy to her.  My daughter and I completely removed the rats nest of wiring a few years ago while she was still in high school and completely re-wired it...headlights to taillights.  These pictures were before we did that and you can see the awful wiring hanging under the dash.   ::)

Thanks for the info. I'm sure your daughter loves her buggy.
