Seems like you would need to be sure the rest of the components match the new clutch
I think the pressure plate will bolt to the crankshaft. Not sure about the clutch cover. Been to long. I'm sure Russ will let us know :-\

Russ's clutch is/was a 190mm, 200mm was not available till later when the 16v came out, then it could be paired with either the larger or disk by using the smaller spline disc. An easy upgrade if you can find a supplier to do it for you is a 16v heavy duty pressure plate with your transmissions matching clutch disc spline pattern and then the 16v 200mm flywheel.

i appear to have gotten an H2O VW adapter in lieu of a Subaru adapter to AC VW.
is there a difference between the early diesels and regular gas blocks for the 1.8 gas and the 1.6 diesel?
There may be a use for this adaptor in the Ghia after all....

After further research it is for a Subie, just a 1.8 ohv Brat engine.
So scratch my earlier inquisitiveness.
