Also I need a hood release cable because mine broke. Anyone know where I can get one?

Hmm been quiet in here lately? Allow me to re-introduce the Rabbit, if you were at the meeting tonight you had the chance to check out its new upgraded power plant:

Back in December, the original engine blew a head gasket and I lucked out on acquiring a 1.9 TDI from a '97 Jetta. And several months later, thanks to some hard work from Sal and Money, that TDI is refreshed and stuffed inside my Rabbit along with the 5 speed transmission and a mechanical injection pump. Plus a laundry list of new parts including new engine gaskets/seals, timing belt, water pump, thermostat, axles, wheel bearings, engine/transmission mounts, ball joints, tie rod ends...you get the idea.

Ok more photos. The donor car...

Pulled out...

Refreshed and prettied up:

Engine bay ready...

Going in...

And done! Here she is in case you forgot what she looks like...

I am EXTREMELY happy with how it turned out and very proud to have a true S&P original. It's got an obscene amount of power now compared to the old engine and while it didn't make it in time for Bug-a-Paluza, it'll be at SoWo for sure!

Nick. The filter on the strut tower is the factory fuel filter housing.

It's yours,  don't think I'm going to make it to cyw,  if you happened to come up to the dealer let me know and I'll bring it to work,  other wise hope to make it to a cruise in soon with the thing and Ghia going

Russ, you will need to make your Rabbit a RHD for that to be accurate!
Looks good,

Bought some rare phone dial reps from Casey, they look good and my center caps from the old wheels fit. Thanks again!
