Claire - 64 Beetle

« on: April 03, 2015, 03:14:58 PM »
I am coming up on the 3rd anniversary of owning a non-running Beetle. In an effort to keep Russ from making a days Koch has owned a non-running beetle counter, I have been trying to focus some attention on Claire. She is getting closer all the time. The latest concern is getting the fuel system completed. Unfortunately, the metal fuel line that goes through the dog-bone tunnel seems to be clogged up. Does any one have any suggestions for clearing/cleaning up the metal fuel line?

Spray carb cleaner with a straw, an old throttle cable, compressed air and LOTs of time and patience.  Spray cleaner, insert cable, poke and twist, remove cable, blow with air (WEAR GOGGLES!!!) . . . repeat until the air blows crap out the back instead of back in your face.
