Went to pull the ghia into the garage and carb was leaking,  time to rebuild,  the smell of old gas is horrible

Instead a nice 67 beetle ended up in the garage with radar wheels,  not mine just on loan

Rebuilt carb on ghia, installed still leaking,  guess I'm gonna try swapping out fuel cut off valve,  didn't replace it because I've always been told the ones in the kit aren't as good as the old ones.  Gotta get this car going before its to cold to drive,  on another note I haven't even checked to see if the heater boxes are there,  dads 67 had good heat

Ordered new ignition switch,  apparently the pigtail one is for a 71 ghia only,  some one cut and soldered a beetle one in there but I am going to attempt to put it back correct,  really want to be drivin this thing

Figured the carb issue out,  put an extra washer on the float cut out and now fuel doesn't continually pump though it and all over the engine

Travis, that looks just like the one I put on the 69.  I plan on using the switch buzzer wire for a radio so I can play he radio with just the key in the ignition. It was a pain to put in... KC

Got the ignition switch wired in,  crank but no start,  replace the coil after some diag, fired up,  go to drive it down to the house,  makes it almost out of the yard,  dies,  won't restart,  add a little gas,  no start,  try to put a little gas in the carb,  dump gas all over the motor,  give up for the evening

And the ghia makes it to the house. Guess 2 washers was the happy medium now ,  wasn't getting any fuel to the float bowl

State Farm decided they won't cover the ghia as a collector car,  said its not restored from the pictures I sent,  told them to take the 40 a month they want to charge me and cancel the policy,  time to shop around
