I kicked myself from the day I sold my '76 camper to the day I bought the '82. I've been really happy with the air-cooled Vanagon-more power than you'd think, plus better aero than a T-2. On the other hand, I had an '88 that, once the bugs were worked out, was a good runner, as well. I wouldn't be afraid to own either kind!
