Our next cruise-in will be held on Friday, September 7th. We will once again meet at the Sonic on East Brainerd Road at 7 PM. Bring a chair and hang out with us!

A few of us have been meeting at Big River Grille (by Hamilton Place) after the cruise-in as well. Please feel free to join us for that too.

During the warm months we always meet at Sonic on East Brainerd Road. However in the cold months, we tend to meet elsewhere indoors, and move around month to month. We have met at various locations around the area such as Hixson and Ft. Oglethorpe. Ft. O shouldn't be too long of a drive for you.

If you have suggestions of good places to meet in Dalton, we could also discuss it at our next meetings and see what everyone wants to do.

Does Dalton still have their big cruise-ins in the old part of town?  A bunch of us went to one a few years back and it was a blast!  Cleveland has (or had) them too.  Ft. Oglethorpe has had a few as well.  We really should try to make an organized effort to attend some of these.  Does anyone know the schedules for any of them?

I don't know about Cleveland and Dalton, but Gadsden, AL is having their big cruise-in tomorrow night and Ed is hosting his Cruising the Canyon for a Cure along the mountain top Saturday morning.

Check to make sure that its in neutral. Then check it again. The put the parking brake on and block the tires. Lay down in front of the back left tire and you should be able to see the starter. Jump the bolt terminal to the spade connector (bolt is power from batter, spade is signal wire from switch). It should spin over. If it does, then there is a problem with the signal wire. I usually use a 14mm wrench cause its about that far apart (and I don't use the 14 much!).

That wire comes across under the backseat of a beetle and you can access an in-line connector to "jump" the signal wire off the battery. I guess its fair to ask if you are certain you are getting 12 volts to the switch? 12 volts to the coil?

Make sure its in neutral before you lay down in front of the tire and jump the starter!  :o :o
