« on: June 21, 2011, 09:44:36 PM »
Come join the Volks Folks this Saturday evening, June 25th, as we cruise down to the Wilderness Theater to see the new movie "Cars 2".  We will meet up at the Walmart parking lot in Tiftonia at 6:30.

Here's some info from Driver-in's website to take note of:

We do not allow outside food and beverages to be brought into the theater

Gates open at 7:30 PM Eastern
Movies begin at 9:40 PM Eastern

General Admission $5.00
Ages 3 & under- free
*We do not accept debit or credit cards*

Everyone should check our forums right before you leave to make sure we've not had to cancel because of bad weather.

Great Molly, hope you and your dad can make it. It should be a lot of fun! (if I can stay awake that late!  :D)

Well apparently nobody wants to work dad's shift so we are not going to be able to make it tomorrow night :( I really wish we could though.

I'm kind'a "iffy" right now.  I spent part of the night Thursday in the ER with a kidney stone attact.  ::) If I have to take some of the pain medication they gave me, I'll be out of it this evening.  So far this morning I'm not having any pain . . .  ;D

It's 7:20 and we're getting the feeling no one is coming so we're heading onto the movie.  If anyone is coming, we'll see you there.

PS: the corvettes are here big time.

We ended up finding everyone at the theater.  Had a good group and better time.  Hope you're feeling better soon, Russ.

There were quite a few people there, although not a huge number of VWs( maybe 6 or 7). The movie was pretty good, except for when you miss 20 minutes of it in the concessions line! I had a great time and would like to do this more often.

Perhaps we can go back and I can actually watch Cars 2! Probably should see the first one before I do that though...

The wreck on the way home was on the west bound side so we had no problems getting home! A tractor trailer went over on its side and blocked all three lanes in the last turn coming down the ridge cut. Traffic was backed up for MILES!!!

I thought the movie and company were great! After enduring thirty minutes or so of Johnny Depp mumbling something about a "creuuuuue" I'd had it and went home, so I don't personally think anyone missed much.

I'll have to get the DVD of Cars 2 and pause a lot to take in all the car-themed scenery and figure out what a few of them were. There's at least as much detail as the first movie! The three-wheeled Reliant Robin flipping over (true to life), "Peet stop", Mama Topolino was a Fiat Topolino, etc.

I went through a rack of "Cars" cars at the Walmart on Brainerd a couple of days ago. Someone had already picked out every Fillmore from the six-or-so flats they had out. Also, there's no David Hobbscap Jag! There's a two-pack of the other two commentators, but no Hobbs! Boo-hiss!
