Chattanooga Oktoberfest

« on: September 23, 2013, 11:07:26 PM »

Please join us for Oktoberfest at the Chattanooga Market on October 19-20 at the First Tennessee Pavilion in downtown Chattanooga (across from Finley Stadium).

Presented by Village Volkswagen of Chattanooga, the festival includes an array of German traditions: brats and other German culinary foods, a bier garten featuring over four dozen local and season craft brews, the infamous Wurstbrats Oompah band and a Scenic City Volks Folks car show.

I was just reminded that they kick this event off with the OLPH Ram Run 5k at 8am on Saturday. Seems like in the past, we have had to renegotiate our way in because of the streets blocked off and the start/finish line being right where we have parked the last few years.

Randy, do we have an arrival time set up with the Market contact?

If not, should we meet up and cruise-in sometime around 8:45 or 9? I know Coker would be a great place to rendezvous but if there is a 5k going on, we might do better to meet somewhere a half step away instead of right in the middle of their race with blocked roads...

-or- we could do every man for himself!  ;D

I would like to meet up somewhere close by and cruise in together, at least one of the days.

Here's the course for the 5K: http://www.oktoberfestramrun.com/race-course.html

I got an email from Steve today and below is his response.
Saturday you can come in around 9:30, but you're welcome to cruise in and out. Come from the North Side(main street) and you can loop around the buildings and we will have spaces reserved for you next to our german food vendors. On sunday you can roll in anytime before 11.
