2nd Annual Polar Bear Cruise

« on: December 13, 2010, 10:37:46 AM »
Join us for a fun cruise on New Year's Day. We will depart at 10:00 AM in the parking lot of Sportsman's Warehouse on Lee Highway. Plan on showing up around 9:45 or so. We will follow our roadmaster on an unannounced route and then wind up at Champy's in Chattanooga for lunch.

As of now they are calling for rain. Do you have a rain date on this? Some of our cars don't have wipers. Hopefully the forecast will change before then.
Our monthly club cruise-in will be the following weekend.

We haven't talked about a rain date as far as I know...maybe rain, but high in the low 60s.  MUCH warmer than last year!  Hope you all can join us.

The route is set and we are all ready to go.  While I can't devulge the route, I will tell you that it isn't as far mileage-wise and if you have some Rain-X, you'll be fine if we have light showers.  Let's just say, a slower paced run this year!

It will be held rain or shine, unless it's a downpour.  If you have any questions, check this forum on Saturday morning around 8am for any cancellation news.  Otherwise, we're on!  The really good news is that you shouldn't suffer from lack of a heater this year...

See you Saturday, 9:45, at Sportsman's Warehouse on Lee Hwy @ 153.  We're leaving AT 10am, so be sure you're gassed up (car) and you've already taken your potty break before you arrive.

I'll be there one way or the other.  I don't know if I'm up to getting Homer ready for the trip or not though . . . and then I don't know if I'm up to driving him. I may whip out and drive the Passat.   ???

On this ride, drive anything you like. I'm taking the RAT. It doesn't have wipers or heater, except for my little propane. The lunch alone is worth the ride. If weather is really bad, we'll post by 8am sat. morning. We can even skip the ride and just eat lunch!

I'm looking forward to lunch too!  I've heard great things about the food.  We only have a VW with heat that runs right now so we'll be in the convertible.  Spook is making good progress on the 59 so hopefully it won't be long till we get a call to go pick it up.  Can't wait! :)

that's your own damn fault! One can't help a lack of wipers, but you could have picked a vehicle with a top!

I got wipers and Rain-X and I can drive very fast but wouldn't feel very good about blowing everybody away with my driving skills in the rain and a very stout single port 1600  ::) ;D
