I hold in my hand a VHS Tape with a hand written lable that says "Channel 12 News  11 p.m.   7/12/98  Scenic City Volks Folks Show N' Shine" 

I can see the USB record player . . . but it's in the middle of a stack of stuff in my "junk room" . . . I'm not sure if I can pull it out of the stack and get away before the mountain of junk buries me or not.  If I don't show up tomorrow night, y'all will know what happened to me.   

Has anybody tried calling Zen to see if he made it out alive?

Well I am sorry to say I put the tape in, hit play, and nothing happened. Tried to eject, it got stuck. I eventually pulled it out, but the damage was done. It ate the tape

The clip might not even be on the section of damaged tape.

I've got a new capture device at work and several good VCRs.  It's only got to play once . . . so there's still hope.

That thought crossed my mind too. Even if they charged a little something to get a copy, it would be worth it.

Cool!  I've got an old 45 that my dad had when I was a kid.  It's an old truck driver singing a tune about getting caught by a new-fangled invention . . . radar.  I haven't heard it in probably 35 or 40 years . . . I'd love to have a mp3 copy of it.

We've also got a bunch more of the old VW Dealership Training filmstrips . . . We need to "digitize" all of the records.

Did you get the tape to work?
