I am a member of a few other online forums, and one thing that they do is post cars that they see on the road that relate to the forum. Like any VW's that you see could be shown on here (or any other car that catches your eye). I think this is a cool idea and keeps you on your toes while around town. But this only works if several people participate. I always try to remember the time and place that I saw the car as well. So I hope you all can enjoy this thread as much as I have! 

I'll go ahead and start off..I live on the campus of UTC, and there are at least 2 if not more MKIV Jetta GLI's of students. I would like to talk to them about joining the forum. I also see various models of GTi's around as well. However, I have not seen too many older cars, and plenty of Passats (go figure).

You will see alot more of the ACVW's in the spring, summer and fall.
Most owners are unhappy chizzeling ice off the inside of the driver's window in the winter when the heat is "wide open".
I drove the bus to church 2 sundays ago and I ended up with 2 #10 can sized holes in the Ice on the inside of the windshield after driving wide open for 30 minutes. - I'm the exception.

Nick, Hook up your back heater vents and use them . You will be surprised how much faster you will warm up. The warm air has less distance to travel. My new '61 Beetle had the "Hottest' heat. It had good ole dirty air (Dirty air heat= smelling leaky oil drips and week old road kill    I had to go to a car wash and hose off the heater boxes after a very close encounter with a Armadillo on I-10 in south Texas  who managed to lodge parts of itself up inside the boxes  . YUK !   Had to ride with the windows down for a while until all the little flapping things burned off even after the car wash.  Double Yuk !!   Ask me sometime about the big Owl who managed to stuff itself through my drivers side vent window. I didn't know Owls had that many feathers.

Heat?  Heat?  I don't need no stink'n heat.  I took a lesson from the whales that spend their lives in ice cold water and just put an extra layer of blubber.   

But really, IF you have all of your tin installed correctly, have a working thermostat and everything is sealled up tight from your heater boxes out to the vents, a Beetle has excellent heat . . . at least as long as the temp stays up above 20.  With a bus you have about the same amount of heat to work with, 4 times the space to try to keep warm and 20 times the places for cold air to leak into the cab . . . so yeah, if the temp drops below about 45, the heat in bus pretty much sucks.  I drove one every day for several years . . . after a while, you kind'a get used to being cold on that long drive to work on those cold winter mornings.

I have no idea what you were doing, but you were in the bus. Looks like you have been painting it? I honked, you looked, and I waved...

Saw a MKIV Jetta GLi on campus today, dark blue with aftermarket rims, and instead of "Jetta" of the left side of the trunk it said "Bora"
