SC, you and I both come from the "triangle" so you know I wouldn't steer you wrong. If there is anything you shouldn't "half-ass" fix on a car, a front wheel bearing on a car your daughter drives is got to near the top of the list. I have no idea how they are installed on a Camry, but on all other front wheel drive cars I've changed on it, they are a pain in the rear and require a good press . . . but it beats what will happen if it fails suddenly, or if you keep running it untill it starts damaging other parts.
A few years ago, I help the son of a friend fix the damage to his VW Fox after he ran the wheel bearing until it started making a noise. I can't remember exactly what all we had to replace, but it was a lot more than just the bad bearing.
