Can't tell if that's a male or female, but according to their VIN, they are a SUPER Beetle and the were born late in the 1973 model year, so they will be turning 32 probably in June or July of this year.  If you kidnapped him/her, would you also be charged with auto theft?

Now I reckon if ever I was to get a tattoo, it would have to be something like that! I love it!

And the car it is attached to. Zen is correct, it's a '73 Super Beetle.

The guy (or girl) is obviously proud of his (her) Bug and I can understand why. It's a nice car. My next tattoo will be something VW related but I don't know, just yet, what it will be. You can bet there will be a copyright violation involved.

How about a VW rondel on one cheek and a VolksFolks logo on the other cheek ( you pick the cheeks) then we will mount you on a flag pole for Bug-A-Paluza. That way you would be up and out of our hair while the rest of us tend to more important things. What do you think ?

Yep! He's like Russ, only cooler. He's got a VW and Mac obession. He told me that he's going to tattoo every serial of every older VW he buys, that way it'll keep him from buying too many. Something tells me that's not going to work. At least it wouldn't work with my dad.

He's coming to the show but I dunno if he's bringing his Newbie or his Super. Either way, you guys will get to meet him. He's from North Carolina.

By the way Russ, I told him about you and Macs... now he wants to talk to you on IM! XD

Well, this would be my tattoo and my (now father's) 73 Super Beetle. Her name is Juney. She has quite the story.. born in July of 73 (unsure what day yet, I'm trying to obtain the VWoA Birth Certificate for her and my Nubee). Many fun adventures with her, and the VIN to proove it. I gave her to my father this year for his Birthday. She never left Memphis to come with me to Raleigh, and I bought the new beetle because I do a lot of traveling (32,000 this year alone), and I needed a bit more room. I LOVE my 73 so much, it was hard to give her up -- even to my dad who shares the love.

I'll be going to as many meets as possible, but only with my new Beetle (http://homepage.mac.com/kcfoxie/), as she (soon to be He.. sex change: Supercharger or TDI swap? decisions, decisions) is my "new project." I'm retro-ing her, to the core. Everything vintage looking, but I'm just starting. I aim to have the Inalfa ragtop sunroof installed by the summer, and I'm ordering the oval window rear window kit next week. The chrome kits, including the side molding, are getting hard to come by.. but I do have the eyelids. I'm swapping bumpers/fenders with a 98 so I'll be two -tone black and green (but not the classic idea of "two-tone," again reflecting that it's a modern car made to look vintage).

Either way... I'm glad I've managed to evoke some responde from everyone. I am a guy, and Russ... it's cool that you're married.. so long as you enjoy long technical talks (and/or Apple Store openings), friends is more than cool.

A bit about me.. I've been in NC for a year, I work for one of the US Institutes of Health doing Macintosh Support (so if you thought a Mac was never used "professionally," well I can say it finds cures for diseases every day where I work.. oh yah, Hallmark too..), and I really love the state. I was born in 1983 and rasied in Memphis, TN. I've lived in Portland, OR for about 14 months -- HUGE VW presence out there, and now my life has brought me to the east coast. I'm alternative, and enjoy my tattoos ... the VIN was my first, and probably my favorite. I have 3 Macintosh centric ones, and one that's just general computer-related (power logo). Oh, and my name is Chris. My new Beetle's name is April (post sex change: Charlie), and well you know all about Juney :)

Take care!

Nice desktop picture but I had to pare down the color a bit. I find anything not color neutral tends to distract me.

In a few minutes I'll upload some of my desktop images for you.

I like how you toned it down. I was just happy MacDesktops took the photo as-is, I took that shot in late 02 or early 03 and was like "eh, why not subit it?" ... they liked it :)

I'm kinda concerned that you've got like 3GB free on the internal HD of that Mac, but more in awe of the 1.3TB on the HOME sever... NICE! I got to use a LaCie BIG DISK (1TB Platter) FW drive to backup a user's 80GB (with 500MB Free) hard disk one day, that was really an experience -- an 11lb hard disk. Felt like he 80s all over again lol

That's my iBook, I'm connected to the AD server at work, I guess it really is that big.

This is the one I use at home. I think I took the picture last year at Circle Yer Wagens.
