I'm back from England! Super trip, but I won't bore you with the details right now, unless you want! I was 5 minutes late to get the

Polo I wanted for a rental and wound up with a Fiat 500.

LOTS of types of

s over there that we don't get here in the states! Lots of them, too! Everything from Polos to Transporters to Phaetons. The new Golf Cabriolet, about 3 different-sized van/busses. I got pictures and will bring Friday. Ssw several vintage cars coming and going to/from the Bug Jam.
Meanwhile, in the garage, I replaced the rear shocks on the '79. The left rear was totally shot-no resistance at all-like throwing a hot dog down a hallway. Also, the DPO managed to twist up the lower mount somehow so I had to get out my suspension adjusting tool (the 5-pounder) to
beat coax it into tolerance.
Is it just me or does everyone here eventually have to use a hammer on EVERY procedure at some point? Replace shock=hammer. Valve adjustment=hammer. Convertible top installation=hammer. Rear window installation=hammer.
I am not making this up.
