Turn off that damned History Channel, get out of that chair, and get to work.
Tou know i am right.   :D
He loves the History Channel, because he participated in most of the events that they cover.  He is checking for historical accuracy....  :o

Just kidding.

I can't do it. Lost the remote. I guess I will have to sit here until the History Channel runs out of history ;D

They're getting there!  About half the stuff they show now isn't really history . . . although Pawn Stars and American Pickers have some pretty cool historic relics from time to time. ;)

Man, I can get behind that. Pickers and Pawn Stars are my shows! A lot of them are in the "On Demand" menu if you've got cable.

I love those two shows.  Not long ago they had two items come across the counter that I have.   A 1951 Martin D-18 guitar and a model 1841 54cal. rifled Musket. Whats nice is I have two each. I about fell over at the appraised value.  :o

I've been in the garage piddling away my summer vacation (all 5 weeks of it).
The Beetle camper now has all its lights working and a real driver's seat with the small Grant steering wheel from Stevenson, so its drivable, well, more drivable. There's still the tires, front brakes, sway bars, etc.

Turns out the TR6 brakes issue was the pushrod, after all. The book (Haynes-the Bentley doesn't even mention it) says "don't even bother with it unless you replace the power booster". Well, those folks don't take DPOs into account, I suppose. Imagine if the books contained phrases like "If the DPO replaced the parking brake cables with rope, check that mice didn't eat through them while making their nest in the center tunnel." Anyway, it was about, oh, 1/16 too long, but it was enough.

Another thing the manuals don't tell you: if your Beetle's high-beam indicator doesn't light, it may be because a dirt dauber built a nest deep inside the socket, blocking the light!

Good question.  I have watch things slow down for a while. I cant' even get a good fight started. Maybe its the super hot summer and people are getting bored. I know the weather has knock the starch out of me. It will change.

My lull in action is due to cash issues. (go figure, right?)
But this weekend I'm doing the front brakes on the bus. Planning on replacing the wheel bearings as well. also going to buy a pressure bleeder ans i really stink at bleeding my brakes.

I'm ordering a quiet pak muffler and leaning on having it ceramic coated like Russ did on his bus. Nice job.

I removed a bunch of interior paneling and such and found a TON of rusted out panels in the rear. I think I may have the wife talked int letting me buy a better body from out west.

Id also like to get some music in there. but not sure if I'll have funds or time. Football is on too ya know...

I labored yesterday, cleaning the "4 lug phone dial" turtleback wheels.
Got almost all the black paint off.
Can't wait to get them on the Jab beetle.
See, we are just too busy to type!!!
I took the week off and will be checking in sporatically.

I spent the whole weekend relaxing and ejoying the company of the new wife. We went up to fall creek falls and hiked around. We watched the ut game on sat. and flipped a coin to see about driving to the beach. 2 out of 3 were tails... We got back early yesterday so she could watch her stories on tv and I got to play with the baja! I got the tank back in from the cut n turn and then wired up a fuel gauge, speedo lights and a high beam indicator. Next up is to run a wire for the winch and put in an interior light. Glad she works late today!
