Knoxville VW repair?

« on: June 05, 2007, 08:44:08 AM »
I am moving to Knoxville from Jacksonville, FL and I will be bringing my 1974 VW Beetle with me that I'm restoring. You can take a look at my restoration here:  https://home.comcast.net/~mcclint680/bug.html
I've been trying to find classic VW specialists in Knoxville, but my searches have come up empty. Are there any parts places or mechanics in the Knoxville area I could take my car to get work done when I need it?
I'm used to having Eastern Imports and Hilltop Motors in Jacksonville to meet all my VW parts and service needs. I really hope I can find something comparable in Knoxville.

thank you for any information you can provide. I've sent several emails to avwa.com and they don't even acknowledge me.

I just moved up here two months ago from Gainesville and I too was spoiled by eastern imports (i even had an account there  )... when I left they told me they would ship me parts if I needed... so we always have that!

I stocked up on a few things before I left too!

Yep, I'm a Nole! Everyone keeps asking if I'll "join the orange army" now that I'm in Tennessee - whatever the hell that means. During football season, I'll be flying the colors Garnet&Gold on Saturdays and Black&Teal on Sundays.
As for the Rocky Mountain Motorworks link... I know I need to do some clean up on my website. Once I get settled into my new house up here and start working on the Bug again, I'll update it.

I was born in Chattanooga and my family has been in the East Tennessee area for over 200 years but I am still not in the orange army. For Tennessee teams, I prefer the Titans for pro and University of Tennessee Chattanooga Mocs for real college football. UT-Knoxville is too "pro" for me. UT-C still plays college football. Of course, FSU will alway be #1! :D
