Has anybody seen a rail speeder (railroad inspection car) laying around anywhere ?  I have a plan.

I went to work a little later than normal today and as I was cruising down 75 towards downtown, I spied some speeders sitting on the rail below just past BMW. I couldn't help but think about "old age and treachery" as these guys glided through his backyard. I wished I could have grabbed a photo.

David and I talked several times of contacting a rail speeder club and see if we could hitch a ride on one of their excursions.  I regret that I didn't pursue it a little harder.  I kept thinking some day we would get around to it.  It would have been a blast to travel and abandon railroad in a speeder with the Godfather spilling some of his infinite knowledge of a by-gone era.  Now I'm depressed.
