Russ,

I'm afraid SC has hijacked the godfather's account. Please put a freeze on it until he can get everything back under control before David loses any respect!

I saw one on Craigslist (Atlanta, I think) about a year ago.  There was a group of about 35 of them that came through LaFayette 3 or 4 years ago.  I found the web site of the club that they were with . . . they take trips all over the US and Canada in them.  It looked like it would be a blast!

http://www.narcoa.org/forsale/4sale_want.htm

I was scrolling down through the ads and found a guy in GA selling a set of wheels . . .  :-\

I see pickup trucks on the tracks around LaFayette all the time . . . they drive on the street, and have a set of rail wheels that drop down when they get on the tracks, and lift up when they are on the road.  Why couldn't you do that with a Bus or Beetle?  Or an metal bodied dune buggie . . .   8)

It was only a matter of time.  Could it be that the northern point of the "triangle" has moved to the top of a big hill in East Brainard?  ;D

It's been here for a few years. Must have just crossed the tracks!

I didn't want to hijack KC's thread, so I cut and pasted this here . . .
I have a bad case of "Idontwannainstallfloorpansinghia"-itis.
I keep putting it off...
SOOOOO, I am looking for another Aircooled Project...
You know what they say "Idle hands are the devil's work" so being the Automotive ADD guy I am, I want another project...
PM me off line if you want or post here...
I am looking at some candidates now, a Thing and an Autostick, but just wanted to see what was available here.
Just to clarify: if you have already restored it, I am not interested... Unless it is absurdly cheap. ;D

Not being able to drive albert in the winter is a drag. I keep telling myself that spring is only 8 more weeks away....
KC

How about a VW powered/ auto-stick Rail Car Speeder project ?  That should test your creative juices for a while.  8)
Where are you planning on driving this contraption. . . speeder?

There's a guy in Blakely, GA that seems to have a lot speeders and speeder related stuff for sale . . . nothing in my price range though.  I think it would be cool as heck to take a trip through the backwoods of the south in one of them.  Here's some speeder classifieds:

There is a group of Speeders that run out of Blue Ridge to Ellijay and back during the summer on some weekends. You can catch a ride for $10.00. Linda and are going to try to do one of these trips this summer if I can catch up with some more info. Are you interested ?
