Ashtrays don't look like they have ever been used.... the lighter neither...

The original lightweight keys... both of them...

Last, but not least the contents of the glovebox included:
- Unused box of moist towelettes
- Various notepads, and a pocket calendar covering 1956-57
- Stack of insurance cards ranging from 1991 back to the first, which expired in 1959
- Misc. paper receipts
- 1957 Utah State road map
- Hwy 93 "Scenic Directory"
- Shell brand World's Fair Trip planning guide to 1964-65 New York World's Fair
- Business cards and color image postcards from Hot Springs, Arkansas
- New Jersey DOT pamphlet regarding the "new standardized road signs you might be seeing on the roadways"
- Dealer envelope from Kabalan Motor Service, Dodge and Plymouth dealer in Cape May, NJ.
- Original owner's driver license, expired in 1975
- Payment receipt showing her loan balance of $700
- Original Owner certificate (stating the warranty to be for 90 days or 4,000 miles, whichever comes first, on her new Plymouth)
-And, an envelope holding 2 bolts, washers, and plastic inserts... for the license plate... never installed

Whats the yellow spoon's story?

One of two old plastic Dairy Queen spoons... the handle tips are shaped like one of their dipped cones.   ;D

I guess they left them there for a snack.   :D

Holy crap Bat Man, it's the Batmoble in drag!

Really Rick, looks great with little rust for an eastcoast car. Now, do your magic!

I think this thing should go pretty quick, Mike.  I will need to weld in a new rocker, inner and outer on the passenger, and a "dogbone" at the rear wheel arch.  A couple of headlight cover/ fender tips, straighten out the couple of dents, paint her up... that's about it... Clean up the interior, fix the brakes, reseal the engine... stuff like that.  I keep staring at it, thinking how huge it is...  :D

I think that the rear seat alone has more interior room than my old bug.

Checked the numbers on the engine, matches the paperwork from the dealer, so i guess that means that it is in fact a 100% original car now.

It's nice to see an old battleship like that cleaned up an put back on the road.  The last time I went to pull-a-part in Atlanta someone had scrapped a 1949 Plymoth Special Deluxe . . . it wasn't quite as nice as that on, but it was at least 98% complete and for the most part, straight and solid.  I can't understand how someone could just sell it for scrap.   ???  I'm glad this one found a loving home!

I wanna get it done up pretty quick.  Hopefully by early-mid summer have it back on the road, but   we'll see.  Gotta get these two and my dad's Newport and find us a cool drive-in somewhere.   ;D

Love the old finds when they are like little time capsules,  looks like it was not smoked in either.

Yeah.. doesn't appear that anyone ever did.  I still can't believe at how nice the interior is.  And, with the cost of re-doing an old American interior, that is a darned good thing.  I saw when i was looking through some stuff on the 'net that there is a guy seling an interior kit for the 57-58 Plymouth that includes carpet, door panels, and seat covers on "special" for $3,995.  Yikes.

Now that's a car! What an incredible find. My first car was a 1970 Dodge Dart and I wish I still had it.
