Pics from the engine compartment clean up.... look ma... no rust....

Hopefully will get the rest cleaned up tonight or tomorrow....

I am loving the color on this old car... Never had seen one this color in person, kinda looking forward to seeing it in a new shiny coat soon.

Finished the firewall clean-up....

Got the seals replaced in the trans, and bolted back together, quick coat of paint to clean it up a little...

And, finished the engine up... ready to go back in as soon as I finish up the engine compartment...

Thanks, guys...

I am getting pretty excited right now, it seems to be rolling along very quickly. Yesterday, I spent the majority of the day removing all the stainless and chrome trim, all of the emblems (managed not to break any mounting pins there...

) and started really removing the decades of grease and grime and gunk from the frame. There were places that were more than an inch thick with goop. Should be finished up with the cleaning tonight or tomorrow, then be getting the engine and trans. back in this coming weekend.

Had the car towed in to work for the powertrain install. Been gathering up lots of little bits and pieces so I can get all the undercar work done while it's here.... shocks, undercoating, frame painting, etc.... Once all of that is complete, back to the house for some quick rust repair, and body and paint work.

Everybody keeps asking what is making this one go so quickly. We are using this car for the weekend of our wedding which is scheduled for June 9th of this year, by order of Amanda. And you can't let mama down.

Very productive Saturday...

Touched up the frame spray. Engine and Trans final assembly, bits and pieces painted up, and got it all installed in the car. Replaced the front shocks, pulled the rear ones. Started cleaning up the rear axle / frame. Made it that far before the end of the work day. Going nice and smooth.

Made a totally kewl score for the Plymouth the other day,

A guy on eBay was buying out the inventory at a now closed body shop where they had a bunch of sheet metal repair panels for older cars.

I managed to grab both inner headlamp repair sections that I needed for $95, shipped to me. The cheapest I had seen these panels (which have not been produced in 20 + years) were $135 each, plus shipping. I need a few more bits of luck like this one to help me get this thing done. I opened the box when it got here, and there was some surface rust and a literal 1/2" of dust on them. Awesome...

Mostly just been doing little clean and reassemble stuff. Gonna order the rest of the metal when my check from Uncle Sam gets here.

Oh Yeah, it's already been filed. Should have it in a couple of weeks at the most.... then, it's on to cruisin' with fins style. My shopping list is being compiled. So, when the cash arrives, all I have to do is pull the trigger.

I am gonna save a chunk out of it for the bus. Can't forget her. A new set of seat covers and some padding is the least I can do for her (me).
