Traivs, where is this place located?  A couple of those engines look interesting.  I'd like to drop by there the next time they have a half price day.

The scrap yard had them sitting in a pile by the cashier. Jason Lockhart sent me a text yesterday and let me know that they had them. I paid a little over scrap value, but it was worth it. They are Utilimotors by Johnson Motor Co.

Nick, there is a Johnson Utilimotor flywheel and magneto on eBay starting at $25 plus $12 for shipping or $75 buy-it-now.  The same guy has a nice looking base with the brass tag starting at $15 or $25 buy-it-now.  If you're not interested, how much will you take for your two Utilimotors?

That's amazing! I like the flywheel...wonder if it would make them run... That could make them really valuable!!!

Buy the flywheel . . . I'll drive Homer up and help you get at least one of them running.

I was speaking of one of your two utilimotors.

Homer is running!  OK, it won't idle, but it's running.  The after cycling fresh gas through it a few times, the tank appears to be good.  We'll see.  No rain here for two days so I've had the doors opened letting it air out.  Tomrrow, I'll put on a dust mask and attempt to de-mold it . . . and get the brakes up on it.  I'll worry about the carb later.  Who cares if it won't idle?  You can't idle down the road.

We are going to my brother's in Murfreesboro for the weekend, so it will be one day next week before I attempt to drive it to work.  Buy the flywheel and one evening next week, I'll DRIVE Homer up and help you get one of your utilimotors running.

Nick . . . are you one of the two bidders on the flywheel?  Less than 8 hours left . . .

Don't miss it . . . that's the first flywheel that's come up for auction on eBay in over a year.  I've seen one running utilimotor and one locked up utilimotor with a cracked flywheel up for auction in the past year or so.  By some people's standards, Maytag engines are rare, but during that same time, I've bet I've seen 500 or more Maytags and at any given time, there are at least a half dozen Maytag flywheels being auctioned.  You have a chance to get a VERY, VERY RARE motor running again.

Oh, and by the way, William has fixed the carb that was on Homer, put it on his bus and dialed it in.  Won't be long . . .

And you would have gotten it a week earlier!  At least you know there are other people out there looking for one.  Maybe this would be a good piece to experiment casting some aluminum . . .
