I don't know. Not only am I lazy, I'm cheap. So, I've been trying to put together and "restore" a vintage ice cream freezer to keep from spending the $150 - $200 that a nice, complete one that doesn't need work seems to be bringing. I got one cheap with all the parts. Joy reminded me that I had a wooden bucket and crank handle on the porch at the cabin. The canister and dasher that came with the complete one works with both crank handles. Neither handle would work with either bucket.
So, I went back to eBay and placed a few bids on some older style handles. Then I found one that was cheap and "Buy it Now." Then I won one of the auctions I forgot I was bidding on.
So now I have TWO wooden buckets. They have different latch systems and one is a couple of inches shorter than the other.
I have FOUR crank handles. All four will work with the ONE canister and dasher I have, but only one will latch to one of the buckets . . . and it's the shorter one . . . and the canister is about 2 inches too tall.
From what I can figure out by the markings on all of these parts, they are ALL "White Mountain Freezer" brand parts, and all but one crank handle are for the 4 quart size . . . but they've been making 'em for over 100 years and apparently, the parts changed slightly a few times over they years. But I'll get it sorted out eventually.
