Which Seals

« on: February 18, 2008, 08:19:30 AM »
My oil cooler was leaking and I have a replacement.  I was going to install new seals but I'm not sure which ones I'm suppose to use.  Here is some pics.  I took a pic of the old ones and I a pic of some news one that I think will fit.

Thanks

There's 3 different combos. Dog house, dog house conversion and your looks like just the regular old type cooler. For some reason those look like dog house type seals so they wouls be wrong. Wait for the Godfather for the difenitive answer I guess.

Correct ,   The thick red seals are for some Type -3  use and the others are indeed Dog House seals . The dog house seals were sometimes also used on '70 model  Type-1 "B" marked case( last of in-shroud coolers) along with a hole-matching stand alone cooler.
Just talked to Brian.  If Brian's ' 67 bus has the original case , it should be marked  "H-00000-00 and the new to him cooler looks like his original cooler ,he need to use the little Black seals that look like they were cut off of a piece of hose ( no flanges)
There is about 3 more types of seals to deal with other than the ones we mentioned above.
Im' going by info that Brian has giving me. [-o< I hope he doesn't have the '70 type cooler. If he does we will have to do something else but it can be delt with.
