but i dont have anything to work on :(
Let me introduce my self... ;D
I have a certain bus shell I was going to work on and make a truck out of but then I  bought a ghia that needed some work, then needed time with the Cabriolet, then my other bus needed attention.... LOL.
Hang out here long enough and a project will just pop up for you.
Oh yeah, Welcome!

Hey KC ,Don't worry about Jason coming up with a project once he gets going again. He will put you to shame as far as being N.Ga's Arab Trader. Jason is the one who turned me on to Albert De Allison.

I looked at another Beetle today at lunch and it was a pile, but I was still trying to figure out away to get it home with out the wifey noticing. Decided sleeping in the bus wasn't worth all the $'s that could be made ($300 ish) by splitting it up.

But seriously Jason, what are you looking for? ;D I am probably never going to get to the bus shell (has title.) (might even toss in a 2.0 engine ;D

Is that the 69 on craigslist? My buddy was interested in that one, but when posted photos it was all disassembled.

Well that narrows it down.  Make me an offer on Albert De Allison. 400 miles since rebuild.

I think your buddy called when I was there...
Body has been smoothed (read bondo and fiberglass).
Front has been cut for a beam extender that isn't there...
Front beam is stock width, but has had adjuster's welded in...
only one spindle (one of the reasons I didn't buy it.)
For $300 it is a good part's pile.
Getting it home will be tricky.
Extra engine is a small diameter single port, looked 40 HP to me.
Old engine was removed with a hammer (I kid you not.)
Engine case was busted loose from the outside, can see the hammer marks on the case. that engine was a 1500 SP and there seems to be one head left and some tin for it.
If your wanting a rat rod with lotsa bondo, then the body is worth saving.
The trans looks to be an original early IRS, but all rubber is literally rotted off the axles.
I Passed, but just barely.

@ Jason,
The bus is R&M's old sign bus.
I'll get some photos this weekend when I pressure wash off the black and white spray bomb paint job.
It is pretty solid and is a 1978 Champlain Ed. It has the proper front seats (brown) rear seat (brown) and carpet (brown) (no rubber mats) it is missing the shifter arm, dash guages, glovebox lid, steering wheel, trans, engine gas tank, and middle seat.
Front windshield area is solid and appears to have a new windshield and seal in it.

I have a supposed good 2.0 engine and what appears to be a complete set of tin wit a complete FI setup. Bus has the slider windows on the sides (gonna put them in Kermit (my '75 bus) soon if I do not do something with this bus). Beam has rusty lower shock mounts, but the rest of the under carrage and body is fairly straight. Leaves have been removed from the beam, but I have them.  The dash is still the rare brown one.
Prices = shell only with the seats etc. (no engine) =$200.
With engine, tin, FI system, etc.= $400.
With all the above and a black center seat = $500.
Let me know if your interested.
I towed it home on a dolly from Chattanooga to Varnel Ga with no Problems.
I will be parting out all the Champlain stuff soon so let me know.
at that point I'm gonna cut the body up and make a trailer out of it, just hate to do that to a rare bus that has a title...

Lamar in Dalton has a correctly sized nice VDO tach that I am thinking will go in Kermit.
Since you got the clock out of the DASH GAUGES I mentioned were missing... LOL.

Somewhere I have another dash cluster out of a Champagne Edition. Missing clock but the gauges and speedo are probably okay.
